Limited to twenty (20) people, pre-registration is required

Ammunition Count:
Fifty (50) rounds for precision rifle, plus additional for follow-up shots

Course of fire:
These matches are intended to test the shooters ability to make highly accurate shots at different distances in a variety of conditions. The majority of the shots will be fired from the standard shooting positions (standing, knelling, sitting, prone), bi-pods slings and shooting packs are allowed. Tri-pods are not allowed. Tactical rear bags such as the Redman (sand socks) are allowed. There will be multiple shots per stage. Single shot rifles are allowed but are discouraged.

Be prepared for rifle ranges from 50yds up to 500yds. This match is a GREAT way to use all black rifles with the appropriate optic. This is a novice to advanced level match. If you are a new match shooter (however accomplished riflemen), please let the staff know and we will squad you with experienced match shooters. Learning the match format can be picked up after just one match.

Will be a mix of paper targets, movers, swingers with the majority being steel gongs, squares, and silhouette targets that will be scored as hit or miss engagements. Generally, the targets will be at least 2 MOA for the designated stage distance.

Competitor minimum equipment:
a. Rifle (bolt action or semi-auto) capable of feeding from the magazine (internal or detachable), caliber .223 to .338 Laupa Magnum. No calibers larger than .338 Laupa Magnum. No .22 rimfire allowed!
b. Rifle with a working sling with the ability to allow the competitor to move hands free and the ability to allow the competitor to safely sling the rifle and transition to different shooting locations
c. Scope/rifle combination capable of adjusting trajectory to 600 yards.
d. A rifle scope, spotting scope, laser rangefinder, or binoculars capable to assisting in ranging the distance to targets. Any reasonable equipment used in the pursuit of game is allowed.
e. You must use active and/or passive means to gain target ranges such as, football field range method, reticle measurement and so forth, if the stage explicitly states otherwise or the equipment malfunctions.
f. Confirming rifle zero on the day of the match is not allowed. See MD with questions.
g. It is highly recommended the competitor have the above stated ammunition and at least two (2) magazines for the rifle used (if detachable). The remaining amount of ammunition for the events may be carried by other means but with the competitor at all times.
h. Hearing and eye protection.
i. Clothing appropriate for conditions.
j. Hydration
k. Food-as required
l. Water-proof boots, as the club sits in a low area.
M. Chamber Flags are manditory

This is the absolute minimum amount of gear required for the match. If you want more, you may bring it, but you must carry it with you at all times, and it must be man portable. We will not be allowed to freely access your vehicles due to safety considerations.

Basic information for this match:
All competition events will be timed. In the competition, the longest walk/run will be approximately 100 yards. The event will have some exercise. No running will be required; however, the event time limit may require some quick movement on the part of the competitor. The competitor while carrying gear needed for the stage needs the ability to walk up steps, to walk down steps, to be able to walk/run with all gear. As required, negotiate slightly rough terrain, and to be able to handle their rifle in position shooting other than prone. All participants must sign a liability waiver.

NRA Safety Rules:
1. ALWAYS keep the gun pointed in a safe direction.
This is the primary rule of gun safety. A safe direction means that the gun is pointed so that even if it were to go off it would not cause injury or damage. The key to this rule is to control where the muzzle or front end of the barrel is pointed at all times. Common sense dictates the safest direction, depending on different circumstances.

2. ALWAYS keep your finger off the trigger until ready to shoot.
When holding a gun, rest your finger on the trigger guard or along the side of the gun. Until you are actually ready to fire, do not touch the trigger.

3. ALWAYS keep the gun unloaded until ready to use.
Whenever you pick up a gun, immediately engage the safety device if possible, and, if the gun has a magazine, remove it before opening the action and looking into the chamber(s) which should be clear of ammunition.

Chamber flags are required!

All rifle muzzles will be pointed up or down when transported, and pointed downrange when at a firing position, or may be pointed in a different direction required by a Range Officer/Squad Leader (at staging areas). All rifles will be carried unloaded with either: a colored safety flag, or the bolt removed. All weapons will be loaded on Range Officer/Squad Leader command. All weapons will be unloaded on Range Officer/Squad Leader command. All weapon handling will be done at Range Officer/Squad Leader command.

Have the events like this gone down in popularity in recent years? Does someone know of any that are going on regularly?
